Writer Dan Slott guided the adventures of Peter Parker/Spider-Man for over a decade, and during his run, he took Spider-Man to brand new highs and some severe lows. Fans can now enjoy his whole run in digital comic form thanks to Comixology‘s new “Spider-Man by Dan Slott Sale!”

Following the highly controversial “One More Day” storyline that rewrote Spidey’s history and erased his marriage to Mary Jane, Dan Slott was part of the group of writers who were taking Peter Parker on his new journey in “Brand New Day,” which introduced a number of new villains, characters, and even love interests into Peter’s new single life.

Slott would eventually take over Amazing Spider-Man and take Parker in a bold new scientific direction with “Big Time,” which placed Peter in a new job at Horizon Labs that enabled him to enhance his equipment and Spidey suits and kicked off some of the most exciting Spidey stories of the last decade.

Slott led a few events that revolved around Spidey during his time on Amazing, including the fun “Spider-Island” event that saw the entire island of Manhattan gifted with abilities similar to Spider-Man. Spidey would team up with the Avengers and other heroes to deal with the madness of “Spider-Island,” which has also been adapted on the latest animated Spider-Man series.

The biggest event fro that period is one that has had major ramifications on the Marvel Universe, Spider-Verse. The multiversal event featured every Spider-Man ever and even created a few new ones who became incredibly popular. Fans have sen a taste of the Spider-Verse on the big screen with the animated Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

As if Slott hadn’t put Parker through the wringer already, he also killed and replaced Peter Parker with one of his greatest enemies – Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus – in the Superior Spider-Man series. While that’s a bit of an oversimplification, Superior featured some great Spidey moments coming from Ock and some dark Ock moments coming from Spidey and is a must-have for fans.

When Dan Slott left Amazing Spider-Man after a decade with the wall-crawler, he decided to “Go Down Swinging” with a dark, action-packed showdown between Spider-Man and his long-time foe Norman Osborn. Of course, Norman has also bonded with the Carnage symbiote to become the Red Goblin, putting Spidey in for the fight of his life that not everyone will get out of alive.
