The “Dark Universe” may be dead, but Universal still plans on moving forward with reboots of its classic monster movies, and we now know who will play the title role in The Invisible Man. Check it out…

We recently found out that While the shared “Dark Universe” is no more, Universal still plans to “take an individualized approach to its classic monster movies,” and first up is The Invisible Man from Upgrade director Leigh Whannell.

There were rumors that Armie Hammer (Call Me by Your Name) and Alexander Skarsgard (Hold The Dark) were being looked at for the lead, but Deadline reports that the role has gone to The Haunting of Hill House standout Oliver Jackson-Cohen.

This take on the classic tale will revolve around Adrian Griffin, “a billionaire sociopath who made his money by developing an invisibility suit for the Department of Defense.” This suggests a significant change to the source material, as the character actually turns himself invisible in H.G. Wells’ novel.

Jackson-Cohen joins previously announced cast members Elisabeth Moss, Aldis Hodge, Harriet Dyer and Storm Reid.

The Invisible Man is set to commence production this month in Sydney, Australia.
