Benedict Cumberbatch needs an Avenger’s assistance in a new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness TV spot.
Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated new film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brings back Academy Award-nominee Benedict Cumberbatch into the role of Stephen Strange. This time around, he faces off against perhaps the biggest singular threat any Avenger has faced on their own: the unleashing of the Multiverse.
A brand new TV spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been released, once again showcasing some of the Multiversal action that Benedict Cumberbatch’s protagonist is diving into. We also get more looks at fellow Avenger Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), who is recruited by Stephen Strange to encounter the Multiverse. Wanda protests that perhaps other Avengers would be helpful, to which Strange counters with, “It will get you back on a lunchbox,” likely citing the traumatic events that took place in Westview in her standalone event series, WandaVision.
You can check out the TV spot down below:
Along with the new TV spot, it was also announced that tickets for the film will go on sale this coming Wednesday, April 6. Fans looking to see the film when it premieres next month will finally have the opportunity to purchase tickets this Wednesday, and although the records held by Spider-Man: No Way Home will be hard to top, given that this film follows the events of that record-breaking film, don’t be surprised to see a significant spike in box office numbers from 2016’s Doctor Strange to Multiverse of Madness.
Here is the synopsis for the film:
The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the upcoming movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams.
