Dwayne Johnson has revealed how his Fast And Furious feud with Vin Diesel ended.
In what almost feels like an eternity ago, Dwayne Johnson made a post on Instagram where he praised the actresses of the Fast and Furious franchise but noted that some of his male co-stars were unprofessional. It didn’t take long for people to realize Johnson was mostly referring to longtime franchise lead Vin Diesel. This eventually resulted in limited interactions between the two of them during the production of Fate of the Furious and Johnson departing the main series altogether for the Hobbs & Shaw spin-off series.
In the years since, the two have, at the very least, made a public show of trying to bury the hatchet. Neither one will fully admit fault in the matter, but as Dwayne Johnson tells it, the feud between the two mostly comes from fundamental differences in their personality. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Johnson admitted that the post that started the whole thing wasn’t his best moment but stood by what was said. In that same interview, he detailed how it was he and Vin Diesel reached an understanding during a meeting in his trailer and where they agreed to leave things:
“Well, there was a meeting. I wouldn’t call it a peaceful meeting. I would call it a meeting of clarity. He and I had a good chat in my trailer, and it was out of that chat that it really became just crystal clear that we are two separate ends of the spectrum. And agreed to leave it there.”
Here is the official synopsis for Fast and Furious 9:
Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena, this year’s The Suicide Squad).
F9 sees the return of Justin Lin as director, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster. The action hurtles around the globe—from London to Tokyo, from Central America to Edinburgh, and from a secret bunker in Azerbaijan to the teeming streets of Tblisi. Along the way, old friends will be resurrected, old foes will return, history will be rewritten, and the true meaning of family will be tested like never before.
Directed Justin Lin from a script written by Daniel Casey, Fast and Furious 9 stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Cardi B, and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren and Charlize Theron.
Fast and Furious 9 is now available on BluRay, DVD, 4K, and digitally. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Dwayne Johnson’s in the franchise and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
