Avengers: Endgame found the surviving members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their new allies utilizing time travel as a means to reverse the decimation that Thanos (Josh Brolin) brought to the entire universe. Part of that journey included a stop back in 2012 where the Battle of New York occurred in which Loki (Tom Hiddleston) brought the Chitauri army to attack.
Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo shared a brand new set photo giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the original six Avengers and Tom Hiddleston as Loki as seen in the film. The returning cast members had to don their original outfits from the 2012 film directed by Joss Whedon in order to recreate the events of the Battle of New York in which Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) and Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) had to travel to.

Despite his fate in Avengers: Infinity War, Tom Hiddleston is set to reprise his role as Loki in an upcoming Disney+ series that is currently in development. Given 2012 Loki’s escape with the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame, perhaps that was set-up for what that series is going to be.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. Here’s the film’s synopsis:
“This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.”
