New ‘Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom’ And ‘The Flash’ Footage Revealed At CinemaCon

New footage for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Flash were revealed at CinemaCon.

Both The Flash and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom were subject to a number of delays. Both films were originally set to debut in 2022 but have been pushed back to 2023. However, this has not stopped Warner Bros. from promoting both of the movies. At this year’s CinemaCon, new footage for both of these films debuted, giving us a taste of what is to come next year.

Up first was The Flash footage, which showed a number of things for the upcoming film. According to reports, the footage included Barry Allen going back in time, showing his childhood home and recordings of himself. Michael Keaton’s Batman also appears on a Batcycle along with several different versions of the Batsuit. The footage also gives us our first look at Sasha Calle as Supergirl as well as the return of Michael Shannon as Zod. The footage ends with Keaton’s Batman saying, “You want to get nuts? Let’s get nuts!”

Later during the panel, the footage for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom played. Specifically, it showed Black Manta apparently leading a massive army against Atlantis. In order to defeat him, Aquaman will have to team up with his half-brother, Orm, who was defeated at the end of the first film.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash is inspired by the Flashpoint comic book storyline, which followed Barry Allen as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles.

In addition to Ezra Miller, The Flash also features Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl. Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field are also on board in undisclosed roles.

Directed by James Wan, the upcoming sequel stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Arthur Curry, Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, Vincent Regan as Atlan, Jani Zaho as Stingray, Indya Moore as Karshon, and Game of Thrones star Pilou Asbæk in an unknown role.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will hit theaters on March 17, 2023, and The Flash will premiere on June 23, 2023.
