‘The Batman’: Zoe Kravitz Finally Breaks Silence On Her Catwoman Casting

Zoe Kravitz recently discussed being cast as Catwoman in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.

The Batman star Zoe Kravitz finally discussed her casting as Catwoman in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, explaining that it’s very exciting and that the role is extremely physical. It isn’t exactly clear what the plot for The Batman is, but Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman will likely share plenty of screen time opposite Robert Pattinson’s Batman, so it makes sense that the actress will be preparing for the stunt work that goes hand in hand with the role.

During the interview, Zoe Kravitz revealed that she’s already had plenty of costume fittings for her Catwoman outfit in The Batman but the training has been quite vigorous as she prepares for the role. The actress also revealed that she recently sat next to Michelle Pfeiffer at the Golden Globes and was nervous to be around the former Catwoman star. Take a look at what Zoe Kravitz had to say about her Catwoman role in The Batman below.

“I was sitting at the Globes with David Kelly because he writes our show and Michelle Pfeiffer and I was bowing to the Queen, I felt nervous to be in her presence. We’ve had many [costume fittings], it’s going really well, it’s very exciting. And I’ve been training a ton too which has been great and hard. It’s very physical, I come home just limping everyday… It’s actually kind of pathetic.”

Full plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, Jayme Lawson as Bella, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard.

The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
