‘The Mandalorian’ Concept Art Reveals Early Design For Din Djarin’s Armor

This was the way.

A piece of concept art from The Mandalorian reveals an early design for Din Djarin’s armor that he wore at the beginning of season one before upgrading to beskar steel.

The long-awaited season two premiere of The Mandalorian will be made available on Disney Plus in a few hours. Season one was the first time audiences were treated to a live-action Star Wars show which launched the adventures of Din Djarin and his intergalactic babysitting of The Child. Jon Favreau and co. took some liberties with the medium by sticking to some classic Star Wars tropes and visuals, but also added their own sensibilities.

The Mandalorian‘s end credits, for example, feature various pieces of concept art that were done for each particular episode. All the concepts will be made available in an upcoming art book coming later this year, but artist Brian Matyas shared a piece of his on Instagram to commemorate the start of season two on Friday. The concept art features an early armor design for Din Djarin that is a bit sleeker and doesn’t feature a cape. You can check out the concept art of Din Djarin’s armor below.

What do you make of the concept art? What is your favorite version of armor Din Djarin wore in the first season? What upgrades do you hope he makes in season two? Sound-off in the comments section below!

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, and Carl Weathers with Rosario Dawson rumored to be playing Ahsoka Tano and Timothy Olyphant cast in a currently undisclosed role. The upcoming series is set to be directed by series creator Jon Favreau, executive producer Dave Filoni, alongside fellow season one directors Rick Famuyiwa and Bryce Dallas Howard. Ant-Man director Peyton Reed will also helm at least one episode as will star Carl Weathers and Sin City director Robert Rodriguez.

The Mandalorian season two is set to debut on October 30th on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Star Wars and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
