Zack Snyder confirmed his Justice League film doesn’t incorporate elements from his planned part two and it will feature a “massive cliffhanger.”
We are only a few more weeks away from finally seeing Zack Snyder’s true vision for his Justice League film. Many expect Justice League to be the end of Snyder’s time at DC with Warner Bros. executives describing the film as a “storytelling cul-de-sac.”
Some DC fans have also thought that Justice League‘s lengthy runtime meant Zack Snyder was incorporating elements of his planned trilogy into it. That will not be the case, but the long-awaited director’s cut will feature hints at what could’ve been and a major cliffhanger:
“Well, it was meant to be two more movies. It hints, as you would, at a potential other world. I’d plant the seeds as I had wanted to of what would come in the later films. That’s in there, but as far as those stories that would be to come — if ever that happened, which it does not look like it would — but I think it’s easy to speculate based on that and we can talk about that for quite a while… It is a cliffhanger … The movie ends in a massive cliffhanger, yeah.”
What do you think the “massive cliffhanger” will tease? Do you think it’s possible Zack Snyder comes back to finish out his Justice League plans? Comment below!
Here is the official synopsis for the Snyder Cut:
“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
