Y: The Last Man Showrunner Says Season 2 is Officially Dead

Despite the best efforts of his producers, Yorick Brown has officially reached the end of his small-screen journey. Showrunner Eliza Clark has confirmed the she was unable to find a new home for Y: The Last Man after FX on Hulu declined to renew it for another season last fall.

FX announced Y‘s cancellation back in October, just one month after its series premiere. But although the initial wave of reviews were tepid at best, the show still found a following, particularly among those who were already familiar with the acclaimed indie comic that inspired it. There was a glimmer of hope when reports surfaced that the Clark and her team were planning to shop the series around to other platforms. HBO Max seemed to be the likeliest destination for a while. Unfortunately, it would appear that WarnerMedia had no interest in saving the program.

In a lengthy Twitter thread, Clark detailed how much she cherishes the opportunity to work on the series. She also extended her thanks to everyone who watched it and teased that season 2 would have introduced even more elements from the original comic (including a key group of characters from earlier issues).
